Credit Manager required by independent supplier of schoolwear, workwear and leisurewear £26K-£29K
Company:
Our client is a leading supplier of schoolwear, workwear and leisurewear in the UK and now requires a Credit Manager to join their team and manage a sales ledger up to £10m.
Role:
- Accountable for the entire credit granting process for customer accounts.
- Responsible for the management and motivation of the credit control team.
- Communicate credit decisions, trends and concerns internally and externally.
Skills:
The ideal candidate for a company with a £25-30 million turnover and 2,500 live accounts will have:
- 5+ years of credit experience preferably in a similar sized business
- Excellent communication skills, including customer negotiating skills, both orally and in writing.
- Proficient in reading/interpreting financial statements for the purpose of determining credit worthiness
- Familiarity and proven experience of working with credit insurance
- Strongly persuasive and dynamic personality required to develop relationships both internally and externally with customers
- Energetic, detailed oriented, able to adhere to deadlines on a timely basis
- Excellent IT skills especially Microsoft Excel and Word
Responsibilities
- Establish credit limits for new and existing customers
- Review customers’ accounts and credit limits
- Inform sales team and customers of credit decisions made
- Manage the credit process internally in accordance with requirements of credit insurance policy
- Coordinate orders in progress with all departments
- Minimise the incidence of bad debt and maximise cash collection
- Report to management team on key trends and issues arising
- Plan and manage the departmental workload of the Credit Control team
- Motivate the credit control team, monitor performance and carry out staff reviews
Salary:
Circa £26K-£29K for the right candidate.
