New Product Development Engineer required by engineering company based in London NW9. c£30K+. Excellent career opportunity.
 
We are recognized globally for our technical expertise, developing innovative safety product design for the Energy, Industrial, Manufacturing and Transport sectors. We are now looking to recruit a self motivated and creative individual to join our New Product Development Team. The position holds a high level of responsibility as you will be responsible for full life cycle of the product.
 
Responsibilities:
-Develop new product designs with a strong focus on the aesthetics and functionality of the overall product and the ability to generate design concepts for the company's future product portfolio.
-Liaise with various test house (Like TUV, TRAC, etc.) for compliance of product
-Control individual/group projects and fully complete tasks within agreed timescales, highlighting
potential issues before they affect the projects progress.
-Ensure NPD & RPD activities meets projected deadlines
-Liaise with Sales and Marketing department to derive and document requirement specification
-Work closely with Engineering, Sales and Marketing department to understand product gap in market
-Build and maintain a high level of product and application knowledge
 
Qualifications and Skills
- Degree or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, System
Engineering, Reliability Engineering or equivalent
-Proficiency in at least one 3D CAD modeling platform - Autodesk Inventor is beneficial
-Proven approach for innovative design solutions from concept to production using stage gate process is essential.
-Knowledge of Product simulation and design validation tools are beneficial
-Proven ability in a Product Design role within a Consumer goods, Automotive, Medical Devices or Industrial Safety domain would be ideal
-Working towards Chartered Engineer
-Hands on experience of using MS project software is advantageous
- Knowledge of international standards for safety products is advantageous
