Engineering Manager required by dairy products manufacturer based Chalfont St Peter, Buckinghamshire. £45-50K depending on skills and expertise.
 
Due to an upcoming major expansion project, we now have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Engineer  to join a family run firm who has been supplying yogurt and other cultured products to the foodservice sector for over 65 years. You will be responsible for ensuring all engineering systems are in place and managing the safe and efficient production of all products on site. Reporting to the Factory Manager you will  work closely with the Factory Management, Customer Fulfilment Manager and Technical & Quality Management Teams. Commercially aware, you will have a very ‘hands on’ approach and strong commitment to exceeding customer expectations. Electrical qualifications / awareness would be considered advantageous.
 
Main Responsibilities:
•To work safely & hygienically in the Food Manufacturing environment with all Good Manufacturing Practices.
•General plant maintenance of all equipment, electrics, machines, & service equipment such as boilers, compressors, chilled water etc.
•Repair & carry out planned maintenance of all filling equipment, pumps, CIP sets & other machinery as required.
•Repair & maintenance of electric lights, circuits, and any associated electrical equipment.
•Attend all meetings as designated by the Factory Manager.
•Control outside engineers or contractors when on site to repair any equipment & assist them if required.
•Organise the engineering work-shop & stock spares & parts and re order as required.
 
Core Skills:
•Energetic and instinctive problem solver.            
•Relevant engineering experience in the Food or related Industry including factory exposure.
•Electrical qualifications would be an advantage.
•Sound commercial skills and excellent communication skills are required.
•Understanding of Safe Working Practices in industry is required..
•Understanding of modern computer control equipment is required.
•Knowledge of machinery, legislation and regulations related to mechanical & electrical, electronic engineering is required.
•Knowledge of Health & Safety legislations and ensuring carrying out work practices to comply with relevant requirements of these regulations.
