EU Transport Planner required by Freight & Logistics Company based in Basildon, Essex. Salary dependent on skills and experience.
We have an exciting opportunity for a European Transport Planner to work as part of a busy European Transport & Distribution department, utilising Pallet Networks both in the UK and Europe as well as 3rd party partners and hauliers.
The successful candidate will have a strong knowledge of Road Haulage Regulations and Transport Planning experience; excellent communication skills and an ability to work in a fast paced and ever changing transport environment. You will have an excellent geographical knowledge of Europe (Germany in particular) and have had previous experience of Pallet Networks. A good knowledge of the German language, both written and oral, would be preferable and a distinct advantage although not essential
Day duties will include:
-Planning export trunks to and From Germany to meet overnight network distribution hubs .
-Liaising with 3rd party European partners and hauliers on a frequent basis
-Briefing and debriefing drivers
-Being the UK lead contact for a German Pallet Network Service
-Liaising with other German network members.
-Managing the Web based portal for the German distribution network
-Resolving any Customer Service issues that may arise,
-Completing all necessary Transport documentation.
