Branch Manager required by one of the UK’s leading Electrical Wholesaler based in Sutton, Surrey. Salary negotiable depending on skills / experience.
We are now looking to recruit an experienced Branch Manager to maximise profitability and ensure that fast and efficient customer service is provided. As the Branch Manager you will be responsible for developing existing business and be proactive in finding opportunities to grow the business within the surrounding area. This role will involve leading, motivating and coaching the team to ensure the smooth running of the branch.
A background in electrical wholesale is preferable otherwise B2B trade - Plumbing/Building Wholesale is acceptable. You may already have experience as a Branch Manager or currently be an Assistant Manager looking to take the next step.
Responsibilities:
- Retain and improve profitability of existing business
- Generate profitable new business to meet sales and profit targets. To be aware of trends and opportunities in the market place including activities of competitors
- Adopt a positive attitude and to act in a courteous and professional manner in dealings with customers, suppliers & staff
- Improve gross profit margins by encouraging “add on” sales and sales of high profit
- Carry out regular staff appraisals to ensure performance standards are being achieved
- Control Branch stocks within the guidelines laid down by the company
- Ensure that they branch premises are kept in good order and that the premises are clean, tidy, safe and well organised
- Organise and use the resources available at the branch in a manner which optimises the companies investment
- Ensure that all Head Office procedures and controls are strictly adhered to.
- Ensure that all statutory requirements are met, e.g. health and safety, quality management ISO9002
- Ensure that disciplinary and grievance procedures are carried out in accordance with company rules
Experience
- Excellent Customer Service skills - customer focused
- Commercial acumen - strong budgetary and numerical and analytical skills (managing budgets up to £1m)
- Experience of working with and managing suppliers
- External sales experience desirable
- Strong team leadership, supervisory, mentoring and coaching skills
- Establishes effective ongoing relationships with suppliers, customers, team, and all levels of employees
- Must be able to deliver and execute a business plan
