On-Site Technical Support / IT Analyst (2nd Line) required by managed IT services provider based in Wokingham covering customer sites in the South / M4 corridor. Salary £26K - £28K depending on skills and experience.
With at least 2-4 years’ experience in a similar role, you will have good all round technical knowledge including supporting desktops & laptops, Networks, including Blackberry, Polycom, Skype for Business etc. Experience in remote support tools, helpdesk ticketing systems, working to SLAs and the ability to support and provide hands-on assistance for IT infrastructure projects /upgrades are all essential
Key Responsibilities
-Respond to incidents/requests that require end users’ desk-side assistance, investigation and resolution.
- On site support including project work e.g. refreshes; rack and stack of server and networking equipment.
- Provide cover for on- site analysts for periods of absence.
- Work in partnership with first line central analysts to ensure expedient incidents resolution, transfer of knowledge for solutions and the closure of resolved tickets.
-Provision of hardware break fix support, typically by whole unit swap within contractual SLA’s.
-Provision of Hands and Feet support for network environment Test supported systems within established standards and guidelines.
-Test and pre-configuration of equipment prior to installation.
-Provision of limited on-site user training.
-Performing asset inventory activities as needed.
-Support VIP users within Desktop environment.

Technical Skills
Basic skills in network technologies (e.g. IP, IPX, Network Printing, Internet access) and servers (Windows 2008, 2012 server) are essential. Good knowledge of Lotus notes would be desirable. Technical appreciation of technology in some or all of the following: Microsoft Communications including Outlook, Office Windows 7,8,10; Cisco; Aerohive; Fortinet; Draytek. Proven and thorough understanding of backup, DR, security and monitoring principles would be desirable.

The role requires flexibility to work across South England (predominately within M4 corridor) and out of hours. The willingness to travel and having own transport is essential
