Transport Planner (Nights) required by Freight & Logistics Company based in Basildon, Essex. Salary dependent on skills and experience.
We have an exciting opportunity for a Transport Planner to work the Night Shift as part of a busy European Transport & Distribution department, utilising Pallet Networks both in the UK and Europe as well as 3rd party partners and hauliers.
The ideal candidate will have:
-Experience within a Transport Office
-Expertise to optimise vehicle scheduling and routing systems (Paragon & Manual)
-Strong understanding of the Logistics distribution, especially within the South east of England
-Strong customer service skills
-Good telephone manner
-Strong computer skills
-Competent with IT & various systems
-Knowledge of driver and vehicles legislation
Duties will include:
-Driver Management
-Transport Planning–Multi drop operation, dealing with over 300 shipments per night
-Coordinating 25 vehicles per night
-Transport administration duties
