Field Service Engineer required by electronics and IT company based in Farnborough, Hampshire visiting customer sites across the South East / Home Counties / London. Salary £20,000 - £22,000 depending on skills and experience.
We design and manufacture time recorder systems, biometric clocking in machines and door access control systems and now have an exciting opportunity for a Field Service Engineer to join the team. We are proud holders of Investors in People and a well established and forward looking company.
As a Field Service Engineer, you will be based at our workshop in Farnborough and be responsible for the service, installation and repair of products at customers locations across the region. Ensuring that excellent service standards are maintained and providing instruction and basic training to customers on the use of equipment. You will also provide support to the Workshop Manager in Farnborough.
Responsibilities:
- Highest standard of installation or removal of equipment from customers premises.
- Maintain a good customer relationship and provide basic operating procedures and instructions on use of our systems.
- Perform service calls and preventive maintenance visits in accordance with instructions and report back on any issues arising.
- Be flexible around working unplanned hours in order to complete a job and keep the customer happy.
- Identify any potential sales opportunities and pass these to the appropriate sales person for the area.
Essential Skills/ Experience:
- Previous experience working within a technical role, ideally within the Service / Electronics field or IT sector.
- A passion for technology and the desire and ability to learn new systems.
- Strong customer service skills.
- Clear and confident communication skills.
- Good time keeping and the ability to work unsupervised.
- Self motivated and a pride in your work.
- A full UK driving licence.
