Transport Planner required by Freight & Logistics Company based in Low Moor, Bradford. Salary dependent on skills and experience.
We now require a Transport Planner to join a very busy, structured team supporting freight operations in Northern and Southern Ireland. A minimum of 6 months distribution / logistics / road freight experience is highly desirable.
You will have excellent problem solving and customer service skills along with strong organisational and strategic planning abilities. The ability to work on own initiative with good interpersonal and communication skills is essential.
3 weeks shift system:.
Week 1 – 8am-5pm : Week 2 – 9am-6pm : Week 3 – 11.30am-9pm
Day (Shift 1&2)
-Checking on previous night’s departures.
-Warehouse stock check.
-Checking on location of today’s drivers
-Liaising with the hauliers.
-Making sure that the planning from the previous day is running smoothly and passing on the running sheets to the other members of the team for that particular day.
-Planning the trailers for the following day, utilising other hauliers where necessary.
-Sending the drivers/hauliers their instructions, making sure that they have enough hours to complete their days work.
Night (Shift 3)
-Costing the previous days files
-Handling the out turn reports for the previous days files
-Checking on location of today’s drivers
-Sorting any problems that may be encountered in the early evening.
