Projects Manager / Estimator required by Building and Maintenance company based in Launceston to carry out works throughout Cornwall and Devon. Salary £28,000 - £32,000 depending on skills and experience. Fully expensed company van provided, 28 days holiday per year, the opportunity to develop and progress within a professional environment.
We are currently seeking a second Projects Manager / Estimator to join the General Works Team, managing a number of small commercial projects, undertaking all surveying and quotation functions with direct supervision in order to maximise profit and cash flow.
The General Works Team undertake reactive daily maintenance, refurbishment and restoration works in various industry sectors i.e. Healthcare, Education, local authority, insurance and office / commercial sectors with values anything up to £1 million.
Key Responsibilities
-Site surveys / measures and information gathering.
-Obtain suitable market quotations to substantiate prime cost.
-Production of tender enquiry submission documents.
-Identify risks and prepare risk register.
-Accurately report to the Managing Director the financial and contractual situation
-Identify problems of a commercial or contractual nature
-Prepare reports for financial control and management.
-Identify contractual and contract related claims opportunities
-Ensure that all works carried out under the main contract and subcontract agreements are subject to re-measurement.
-Promote and monitor company standards and procedures including health and safety requirements.
Skills / Experience
-Previous experience within a similar role. (Project Management / Estimating: 2 years, SMSTS, First Aid at Work, CSCS.
-Relevant qualification in Quantity Surveying or Construction management and/or significant relevant experience.
-Self-motivated and ability to work to tight deadlines.
-Ability to use IT equipment and bespoke IT programs.
-Driving Licence
