Our client based in Melton Mowbray is seeking a Maintenance Technician/Engineer.

The successful candidate will be working as part of team who are responsible for maintaining and undertaking servicing of the manufacturing facility and its equipment, including (but not limited to): automated saw centres, plastic welding machines and automated cleaning machinery.

The candidate will also be responsible for assisting the Maintenance Manager in the implementation of a full preventative maintenance program and undertaking activities to ensure machinery is kept at optimum performance; as well supporting in the completion of engineering projects and facility improvements.

The role will involve working within fast paced, dynamic manufacturing environment therefore you must be comfortable working on your own as well as within a team.

The successful candidate will be qualified as an NVQ Level 3 Apprentice in electrical or mechanical engineering and have strong experience in the following areas:

415Vac (3 phase) & 240Vac (single phase) motors
Inverters, Servo motors
Electrical control systems (4 – 20mA, 0 – 10Vdc, 24Vdc, etc.)
Motor/Gearbox assemblies
Fitment of bearings and ballscrews
Automated monitoring equipment

As Maintenance Technician you will also be confident in fault finding on electrical/ electronic circuits and confident in working with all forms of electrical test equipment.

You will be able to demonstrate a strong ability in fault finding on electrical control circuits, control systems and motors knowledge of CNC machinery and components. You will also have comprehensive experience of PLC.

You will be fully converse with pneumatic controls and circuitry.

Previous experience of successfully working within PPM/TPM systems is essential.

A driving licence is advantageous, with occasional travel required.

Must be flexible to work additional hours to meet the nature of the role and the needs of the business.

Hours of work are 6am to 2pm or 2pm to 10pm on a 4 week rotation.
