Our client, a leading global player in the housewares sector based in Farnborough is looking for a Senior Team Leader to work in their warehouse.

Job Accountabilities:

• Managing the Team Leaders to meet their given activity targets, as set out by the Sales Order book and the Warehouse and Distribution Manager.

• To coordinate the Sales Order requirements through the Warehouse process to include the running of orders, picking, packing and despatching of orders, adhering to customer due dates and requirements.

• Liaise with Sales Support Executives, Customer Services Manager and Warehouse and Distribution manager, advising progress of the workload.

• Undertaking an operational hands on and physical presence involvement in reviewing throughout the day the warehousing, packing and despatch areas of the operation, making corrective realignments if and as required.

• Continuous review of Warehouse procedure to ensure that best practice is adopted.

• Continually support and develop all Warehouse staff.

• Agree with Warehouse and Distribution Manager annual objectives for operational improvements within the departmental areas of responsibility.

• Working with the Team Leaders, investigate and apply remedial action if there is failure to achieve expected work rates.

• To communicate effectively to all members of staff, to ensure departmental objectives are met.

• Ensure that the Company’s current Health and Safety policies are adhered to at all times, ensuring packing/despatch areas, aisles, walkways and storage areas are kept tidy at all times.

• Assist the Warehouse and Distribution Manager in the day to day running of the Warehouse.


• To gain knowledge of the day to day running of each department in the Warehouse and ensure that this knowledge is known by more than one person.

• To assist in either administrative tasks or operationally within the Warehouse as workloads dictate.

• To assist the Team Leaders through the appraisals of their staff.

• To make recommendations, put forward proposals for new equipment/work methods, with full cost justifications.

• Computer experience – Excel, Word, Outlook, SAP/Navision.
Able to build rapport, influencing and negotiating at peer and business manager level whilst challenging behaviours and driving change at team leader level.

Used to working in both the office as well as on the Warehouse floor.

Experience of working within a fast-moving warehouse environment, at a supervisory level.

Experience in Leading a team.

Qualified or competent in the use of fork lift/VNA equipment.

Ability to adapt and to be flexible in a changing environment.

Must be confident, self-motivated team player and be able to cope with departmental work pressures.
