Our client, a leading global player in the housewares sector based in Farnborough, is recruiting for a Product Manager. You will work closely the Senior Product Manager across the full spectrum of tasks associated with management of a major brand. This will involve helping to identify new product opportunities from concept to launch.

You will also work with the Product Development and Engineering Team to ensure that product release requirements are met, and that associated data is accurately input in the product set up documentation in line with the critical path of each project. A keen eye for detail and an organised and structured approach to working is essential.

Other keys tasks include creation of packaging briefs, working with creative agencies, copy generation, monitoring of sales data and creation of category reports and product training.

CORE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Market / category evaluation to identify new product opportunities and writing new product briefs to be given to the NPD / Design Department.
• Manage all new product cost data and quotes, ensuring Senior Product Manager sign off and communication of draft and approved costs to the Commercial Teams via the Product Cost Tracking Document. Monitor the variances between initial quotes and final quotes.
• Assist in the creation of business cases and scenarios to justify new product development investment.
• Maintain file for new product evaluation business cases, ensure that business cases on approval are filed and relevant purchase orders processed in line with NPD critical path.
• Manage execution and development of impactful packaging on assigned projects, ensuring that all packs are not only physically fit for purpose but that they deliver first class communication messages and are in line with brand guidelines.
• Work closely with Sales Offices and departments (USA, Switzerland, UK, Export) to ensure that all packaging, product data and associated collateral is in line with the market requirements.
• Monthly presentation of NPD tracking status working closely with the relevant product designer.
• Responsible for the management of product sales sample requirements for the group in line with launch plan dates.
• Manage new product data requirements; from collection of relevant data to the accurate input and management of the product Item Set Up Sheets from start to finish.
• Ensure that all new product data is shared across the group in a timely manner and in line with NPD critical paths.

BACKGROUND, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:
A Bachelors degree in business, marketing or similar qualification.
Previous knowledge plus product development experience in branded goods.
Some exposure to marketing within the broader International marketplace essential.
Ability to thrive in an entrepreneurial business, ability to focus and make decisions.
Must be highly numerate and have excellent PC skills.
Good copy writing skills and attention to detail.
Strong presentation & interpersonal skills.
Good organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
An interest in food and cooking.
