As an R&D Embedded Software Engineer you will be developing cutting edge embedded software for electronic systems and PC software.
You will be working on a variety of projects, from rapid developments with tight time-scales to full scale systems. Working closely with specialists from across a number of disciplines you will be solving technically challenging problems. You must already have entitlement to permanent work in the UK.

Custom instruments, communication solutions and complete turnkey systems are designed and developed in-house, incorporating hardware, firmware, software and mechanical design.

Key accountabilities:
-Delivery of fully working software
-Requirements definition, analysis and verification
-Developing and implementing software architecture and design
-Modelling and simulation
-Coding of software
-Rapid prototyping
-Integration and problem solving
-Validation and certification
Minimum skills/experience required:
-Minimum 3 years experience in Software Developer role/environment
-Proven track record of programming in C++ and C
-You must be able to work both autonomously and within a team to creatively solve problems and take concepts through to deployed products.
-High levels of motivation and integrity
-Flexibility, innovation and commitment to deliver
-Experienced in developing embedded platforms (including peripheral hardware)
-Must be able to communicate clearly in English, both verbally and in writing
The ideal candidate will:
-Have Chartered Engineer status
-Be proficient in Matlab
-Have FPGA hardware design skills (Verilog, VHDL or OpenCL)
-Be prepared to travel within the UK and beyond if required
-Be happy to be involved in the commissioning and installation of systems -including working on offshore platforms
-Be prepared to undertake sea trials when required
